Fishing for CVC words

This has been fabulous Summer start! Although Summer is flying by! I have been super busy working rigorously on my TpT products and clipart.
One of my favorite resources is Fish for Frog CVC words!
I was defined to create this resource and was inspired by a simple fishing game bought in $store here in Dubai, just for 20AED! Frog Jenga can be bough at Aliexpress as well.
We have used paper tape to stick on the frogs for writing various text on it. Initially we have written some letters for revising phonics.
My little daughter enjoyed fishing for the sounds! We simply put the frogs into big white bowl and the surrounded with a swim ring to match the theme.
We have incorporated fishing with writing and modeling with play dough. Every time she fished for the sounds she had to identify the letter and the sound, write it down and model it with play dough on the white board we have placed down.
Revision of the sounds helps children increase fluency every time. Afterwards, we have picked up the frogs sounds to build our short -a CVC words.
Inspired with this simple and very productive hands on activity I have created Fish for Frog Activity for you!
Now, to use this product you are going to need a fishing rod. You could easily create your own by using a hot glue and attaching one side of the string on a spoon or a piece of wood and the other on a magnet.
The frogs have the cvc words on their bodies.

Then, there are the flashcards. Now, there come with just the image.

First of all, you would want to cut out the frogs and the picture cards, laminate for longer lasting and repetitive usage.
If you have the magnetic rod, simply clip pins to the frogs and go on!

Now with the flashcards, you could place them in a Mystery Box where students have to pick up the picture cards randomly and read to their partners. The idea is that students will attempt locate the matching CVC words fish and pick it up with their fishing rod.
Every teacher tailoring the activity would want to have an evidence of the work being done correctly and with understanding of the steps being taken. Teacher wishes to see her students blend, segment, read, recognize and on top of all write the CVC words. Therefore, I have added a recording sheet which shows the evidence of the work being done by the students in the process of the activity.
